All day I’ve tried to come up with something witty, something fresh to start this new blog off with. It’s 10pm, so far I’ve got nothing.

It was one of those high hopes kind of days. The day where you have 15+ things on the to-do list. High hopes of taking a shower in the AM hours, or even in the early PM hours. The kind of day where kids take naps, a cup of coffee is lingered over with a good book in hand.

That didn’t happen.

Big sister was in full 2 year old force today. She does not stop talking. Ever. Which is truly a blessing because a few months ago I was beginning to think she had delays. We had the Cable Guy come this morning, he interrupted Sesame Street. We almost had a breakdown. She recovered, clapping and screaming “The guy fixed it!” as he turned Elmo’s World back on.

Little Sister slept in a bit. Just long enough for breakfast to be fixed, laundry to be swapped and Big Sister’s diaper to be changed. Then - there was no sleeping on our sweet 3.5 month olds part. Mostly due to high drama with big sister. I understand it’s hard to sleep when every time she dosed off she heard “Baby sleeping!?” from a super excited girl.

The sink is still full of dishes. I have four laundry baskets full of clean clothes needing to be sorted, folded and put away. The potty chair is still in the living room. Everyone is bathed, sleeping snuggly in their beds.

I prayed that the Lord would bless me with words of wisdom to share. All that’s been going through my head today are sweet lyrics.

This is the day that the Lord hath made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.
