crescent chicken
Inspired by The Pioneer Woman, I thought I would show you one of my favorite dinners.
We were first introduced to crescent chicken when our Sunday school teachers brought it over the day we came home from the hospital with big sister. It’s been my absolute favorite ever since.
This time, Big Sister helped me make it.
First, boil 3 chicken breasts, like so. I usually just throw in some seasoned salt with my water. Nothing fancy.

While the chicken is boiling, chop up one cup of broccoli.

Also, chop 1/2 of one red pepper

Mince one clove of garlic

Take a time out to nurse a crying baby

After you get her settled, take chicken out and chop into little bites

Into a large mixing bowl, add 1/3 cup of mayo (I use light).

2T of dill

The chopped red pepper

Broccoli

Chicken

Don’t forget to preheat the oven!

While preheating the Oven, little helper Adeline comes along to stir

Then eats some extra chicken

Mix everything in the bowl

Whoops. I forgot about the cheese! 1 cup of shredded cheese. I used Colby Jack & something else. Cheddar works great too.

Mix some more

Take out two cans of crescent dough. I find the Pillsbury is the better than store brand

Roll out 1/2 of the dough and kind of pinch together the seams

Put 1/4 mixture down the center of the dough. Do so in a blurry kind of way.

Pinch together seams. I usually just flip the whole thing over to cover the big seam down the center

Do the same for the remaining three. And make sure you have a two year old touch them alot.

Put in the oven 17 minutes, then check on them. I usually wind up cooking these suckers for about 25 minutes. But once I burned them at 20 minutes, so I check them lots. Oh, and by the way. I’m using a pampered chef baking stone. So, it’s not dirty. It’s just seasoned.

They should be golden brown when they are finished.

They totally taste better than they look. Though, I personally think they look yummy

Big Sister’s “all done” plate

My all done plate. J had one too, I just didn’t take his plate’s picture.

So, there you have it. A pretty step by step guide on how to make my favorite dinner.
I think once a week I’ll do a step by step photo recipe thing. Yupp..
Crescent Chicken
3 chicken breasts chopped
1 cup of chopped broccoli
1/2 red pepper diced
1 clove of garlic minced
1/3 cup of mayo
2 Tblspns of dill weed
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or whatever you have, mozz is good and so is Mexican style)
2 cans of crescent rolls (I prefer Pillsbury)
Mix first 7 ingredients together. Unroll the dough into four seperate pieces and line mixture down the center. Pinch edges together. Cook on 350 for about 20 minutes.

Jill-I love your blogsite. You are such a witty writer and such a true-to-life mom. I love all your picture directions and captions. I’ve actually had this one and it is amazing you’re right. I’m printing your chicken poppy seed recipe as we speak (or as I type). Can’t wait to try it.

Wow – these are beautiful pictures. Great instructions ,as well. Love the crying baby. That is so typical for us moms, isn’t it? I am always looking for new ideas for my Homemade Gourmet classes. Thanks for the ideas…I am just getting my cooking website up and going and this is a great way of having step by step instructions.
blessings on the journey,

Oooh those look yummy!
We do something pretty similar, although we add ranch dressing mix to the mayo, so they are nice and ranchy!! I use each individual triangle, add a small scoop of mix, then roll it up just like a crescent. I end up with lots of little chicken bites (that’s what we call them). It’s a little more work, but my three year old gobbles them up!
I love your photo recipes!
