End of January
A few goals that I have had this year. I don’t like to call them resolutions, because that’s just setting myself up for failure.
1. To read 25 books. Most people try to read atleast 50. But I have two small children and not alot of down time. (Erm.. except when I’m neglecting them to update this blog).
2. To lose weight.
3. To do Project 365. Which is to take one picture a day for the entire year of 2008.
How am I doing you ask?
1. So far I have read FOUR books. Yes people, four books in four weeks. I think I’m some kind of awesome, personally.
Goodreads is a great way to keep up with what I’m reading, what I’ve read and what I plan to read. You can join and add me to your friends. It’ll be good times.
-The first book I read this year, The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion, was pretty good in a morbid sense. Her husband dies and she writes about getting on with the first year of his death. For whatever reason, J bought this for me for Christmas. It was hard to get through it with tears unshed since losing my Grandaddy only weeks earlier. (4/5)
-Secondly, I re-read Love and Respect. We used this book for a Sunday School study and thought I should actually read it and ingest it for myself. It’s good. I think it’s a must for all marriages. Even those who actually get along 98% of the time.
-A Red State of Mind is an okay book. I wouldn’t really recommend it to anyone. Nancy French, a friend of my sister-in-law’s wrote this book telling of her stint as a small time almost cat-fish queen from Paris, TN to her move to NYC and Philly. She’s a little closed minded with her ultra conservative views, yet expects other to be open minded to her views. It’s a cute, funny little book that one can breeze through in a couple of days (if you sit on the couch nursing a baby for a few hours a day).
- My last book of the month, The Scarlet Thread is by author Francine Rivers (also known for her great novel Redeeming Love). A sweet story of forgiveness that can only come from God Himself. I enjoyed the “journal entries” more than the current time story. But it was a great book none the less.
I’m still reading two books as of the moment. Beth Moore’s Breaking Free and Elizabeth Pantley’s The No Cry Potty Training Soultion Guide
2. Hasn’t happened yet. Something about eating chocolate and oreos is making my butt grow larger, not smaller. Hopefully I will end my oh so unhealthy ways soon and start to care about my body. Much prayer and attitude change in this department, soon. I hope.
3. I joined Project 365 at Flickr.com. I have so far taken one picture every day this month. And most picture are of the girls and just random things around the house. You can check my Project 365 out here

So far this month has been great. I cannot believe that it’s already over. In just a few short days I will have a FOUR month old. How did Little Sister grow up so much so fast?
Topics for February that I’m excited about writing about:
-My weight loss journey (hopefully I’ll start that in February!)
-To cloth or not to cloth- My agonizing choice to buy cloth diapers or to keep filling the landfills with my kids poop.
-Why I love breastfeeding - and I don’t care who knows it
-Inspiring Walls- How to make your home Godly (looking anyways!)
