I can be nosey

Something only the internets can decide…

Or something like that.

Okay, so I have a new love for Uppercase Living things. I recently had a party and bought loads of things to put on my walls.

See, this is how I am. I get really into something and then a few months later could give less about it. I am not a Type A personality by any means what-so-ever. But I’m sure you’ve gotten that hint by looking at pictures taken inside our home! I really loved bow making and did that for several months for lots of my friends and sold a bunch through eBay and another site. Then, I slowly lost interest and started sewing. I made several dresses for Big Sister (mostly easy peasy, well, ALL easy peasy dresses), then the tension got messed up and I have yet to fix it, so on to another fad. Scrapbooking. I made a book for Big Sister, started on one for Little Sister when I was still pregnant, then she was born and my crafting skills (or lack of) had to come to a halt because I was doing all things new born. Anyways, now I’m in love with Uppercase Living.

So, I bought this to go in my dining room. But I can’t decide if this is where it should go. This is the full wall in the dining room. It says, “Bless all who gather here” with two little swirlies on either side.DSC_2634
This is the wall that is shared with the kitchen.

Example 1 that I’m not a Type A. This is the doorway to the foyer.

The left to the doorway to the foyer and the window in the dining room. Notice the lack of window treatments. I’m just so bad about these things. I have no decorating skills what-so-ever, and just try to wing it the best I can. I should enlist the help of April.

So, where would you put it? Where I have it oh so lovingly tapped? Or somewhere else? Or just send the thing back because it’s horrible!
Please dear readers, let me know what you think!

Now, random pictures:

This is above the kitchen sink. I’m so happy with the paint color and we’ve had these pictures hanging up since we got married. I absolutely love it. I added the “Blessings” from UL lastnight. I did it all by myself before my husband came home. Because I’m cool like that. And he actually said he liked it lastnight. Which is amazing because J could care less if there are things on the walls or not.

We were all snuggled in the bed waiting for Daddy to come home. Big Sister was reading us a book and it was so sweet that I had to take a picture. And yes, my 2&1/2 year old still takes her “boppy”. If anyone wants to help give me ideas how to get rid of it, I’m totally open. I suggested we tie it to a balloon and send it to Baby Jesus (this was Christmas time) and she screamed, “NO! Baby Jeshush not take my boppy!” So, I’m trying to leave Jesus out of this.

Giving sweet snuggly kisses this morning. Oh man, I never dreamed that Big Sister would love Little Sister like she does. It’s just amazing.

I just love them so much. Who would have thought it could be this good?

Big Sister kissing Little Sister’s boo boo’s from her shots. Seriously, I get all swoony sometimes.

About that boppy thing, We didn’t get rid of “foofee” until last June. We just so happened to forget it at home when we went to east Tennessee to visit Darrell’s parents. It was sad for a while, but she got over it. It actually turned out a lot easier than I thought. We had some rough nights, but she is still alive!

I like the words where you taped them.
And I LOVE the pictures of your girls. They are precious.

We “Traded” my son for his soother… we let him pick out a toy that he REALLY wanted. We brought it home and left it in the package on top of the TV and we told him that whenever he wanted to he could trade is soother for the toy. We made it very clear to him that he would NOT be able to trade back. After about a week he wanted to trade. It worked very well. But he was 3 at the time.

Did you see Supernanny this week? The pacy-fairy is a brilliant idea. If you didn’t see it you can see the outline of it on http://www.supernannyrules.com/meet-the-wilson-knutson-family/

I LOVE Uppercase Living! I’m actually going to a party in a few hours ;o)

I like the expression where you have it taped, but April is very crafty, so whatever she says!

Someone told me that they cut the mouth pieces off all the pacis to show that they were broken and the child then threw them away. Worked like a charm. Some kids can give them up easily and some can’t. I can barely get Bailey’s out of her mouth to eat, so I’m not looking forward to that battle.

And I LOVE the pictures of the girls. She is such an awesome big sister!

Just “happened” by & saw your post about daughter w/ her boppy. Wanted to add my unsolicited advice!! We took my daughters away when she was 2 yrs 3 months (shes 24 yrs now!!!!!). If I had it to do over I would let her keep it in her bedside table to use at night till she we GROWN if she wanted!!!! SHe never, ever went to bed very well after we took away her “apy” it was her comfort, her friend and she just wasn’t happy without it. I know this isn’t help, but its my 2 cents!! by the way, we put THUMBZIT or something like that, awful tasting stuff that you use to discourage kids from sucking their thumbs on her apy, and we told her it tasted bad because she was getting too old!! it did work.

Okay, so I have never heard of Uppercase living - I’m going to have to google that. And my honest opinion is that I would look at it over the door to the kitchen between that precious nook and the top of the door frame. If it looks horrible there, then leave it where you had it, but I would put something else with it, because just the words in the middle of the wall is sort of barren. To me. Not that my opinion means diddly-squat. I’m just sayin’. :)

Oh…and your expression I think should go above the doorway to the foyer. You need a big picture or something on the original wall you had it on. Just my little input…

    me again…

My first three had a fooler. What worked for us (and I heard or read this somewhere) is that when you are ready to get rid of it, get rid of all the foolers but one. Take a pair of scissors and just snip it a little. Then when they ask for it you still give it to them. With my two girls they looked at the thing and didn’t want it again. I told them it was broke and they were too big to buy any new ones. But my son….it didn’t matter that it had a snip off of it! He sucked on it like it was fine. Everyday I would snip a little more off. We worked with this until there was not enough there for him to keep it in his mouth!! He cried when he couldn’t hold it in anymore…but I told him it was broke and we needed to throw it away. He quickly latched on to winnie the pooh and found comfort in that. I liked that method because if they asked for it I could still give it to them. They didn’t know that it was bad mommy that was cutting it. =0) Anyway…what worked for us. My fourth is a finger sucker….

I love it in the dining room! Your house is so wonderful! When I came to knock on your door - I didn’t know if it was ACTUALLY your house because I didn’t remember the sign on the door. Until I saw the very! cute family yard portrait. ;)
You should photograph that. I adore it.

I also LOVE the kitchen color. It’s beautiful!
