Still in Florida…

DSC_3384Yesterday we finally went to the Gulfarium. We had a great time.Big Sister really enjoyed the dophin show and kept telling us, “They aren’t fish, they dolphins.” Such a smart little girl.

The Gulfarium is a nice enough place. It has that old 60’s feel, and that’s probably the last time the place was painted. You leave just feeling a little sad because the animals just seem kind of alone. Of course, J reminded me that if they were still in the ocean they probably had a good chance of being eaten by a shark or something equally deadly. So… I guess that kind of made me feel a little bit better.

Afterwards we drove to a nearby town and had dinner at Giuseppi’s Wharf. The girls were very good and J & I were able to order some nice food. I ordered in a hurry and ended up picking scallops. I knew they came from the sea, but I wasn’t for sure what they were. They looked and tasted like warm mozzorella cheese balls. They even had the same texture. When we made it back to the condo lastnight, I googled it and found that they are indeed not cheese and I went to bed feeling a little iffy in the tummy region.

Today J left for work before I had a chance to get my keys out of the car. So, the girls and I were stuck here all day. Which was fine. We had a very pretty day. We walked down to the pier and found several sand dollars. I carried Little Sister in our Beco Carrier where she fell asleep on our mile walk. Let me just tell you that when you just had your second baby in 25 months and you’re walking on the beach while teeny tiny little college spring breakers are galloping around… you will start to feel way more insecure than you could ever imagine. I just felt huge. Like at any moment someone was going to call the coast guard and try to throw me back into the water. It was awful. And I absolutely hate feeling this way about my body because I know it will eventually trinkle down to my girls. And I don’t want them to have poor body image thoughts like their momma.

J didn’t get home until 7pm. I’m way off with this time change. Half the clocks have been changed in the condo and half the other have not.

While I will miss the view from this condo, I am looking forward to getting home and having a little more room to play indoors. I’m also looking forward to seeing my friends. I know I’ve only been gone 7 days, but man, that’s a long time! Only three more days!

(Who counts down leaving the beach?!)

I’m glad you had a good time– we played alone in the driveway today so I’ll be glad for you to come home(: On a side note, when I threw your mail on the dining room table today (which I’ve been doing b/c you got three UPS packages) I noticed a suspicious smell that had not been there before… I’d hate for something to really be rotten inside and you need a gas mask when you get home. do you want me to check trash cans?
