Love Thursday & other things

best friends

Love Thursday - Big Sister and her best friend Sky went on a date - a play date that is. The girls & I headed over to our favorite friends house today for a mini egg dyeing & hunt eggstravaganza. (I crack myself up…oh, I did it again).
Anyways, we had a blast coloring eggs and hiding them. Big Sister probably had more fun dyeing the eggs than finding them. She really enjoyed the swing the most! And sweet Skyler was such the gentleman helping Big Sister find the eggs and even giving her many in her basket! Oh, this could be love…

In other news, I wanted to give an update on my dad. As I’ve posted before my dad was in the hospital with some pretty serious things going on. My dad has COPD and several other lung diseases. He gets really sick really often, which is hard for the rest of his body to handle. While we were in Florida, dad went into the ICU with pneumonia and the flu. He also had MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) which can be deadly. He was on a ventilator and feeding tube for several days. It was pretty touch and go for a bit. He is still in the hospital, but is now in a regular room. The staff re-tested him for MRSA to see if he still had it, and as far as I know, they have yet to get the results back. The hope is to get him into a rehabillitation facility so that he can have two weeks worth of physical therapy. He is known to blow off the PT when he’s at home. I think this is best because 1) he’ll have to do the PT and it will help his body get stronger & 2)it will give my mom a much needed break. I know that sounds bad, but if you knew half of what my mom deals with you would understand.
So, I appreciate the prayers and I apologize for not updating you sooner.

I am starting a counter (you can see it to your left, just scroll down a bit) to keep up with my weight loss journey. As you may know, I am sick and tired of being one chubby heifer. So, I’m going to lose this baby weight (and just chocolate weight) once and for all. After I eat all the easter candy in the girls’ baskets…
On (some)Friday(s), I’ll have a Fitness Friday post which will have my victories and failures posted. I’ve also decided (just have to get J on board) that for every pound I lose, I’m going to get a dollar in a jar. I tried to get J to agree to twenty dollars, but he decided that even a skinny Jill needs to live in a house and he gave me a simple math less on 20 x 50 = 1000. And that wasn’t happening. Oh well. But, we did agree on if I lose all my weight I get to go on a (budgeted) shopping spree.
Whoot.

Also. Tomorrow is Good Friday. I love it. Easter is my most favorite holiday. How blessed are we all that we have a God who sent his beloved Son (Mom’s can you imagine giving your child up for the world - for this world??) so that we can have salvation and eternal life. Man, if that doesn’t bring you to your knees I don’t know what will!

Thanks for hanging in there with me:)

    Hi Jill,

I’m with you about the candy. I’ll start right after the last of the chocolate, oh and the Nutellla! The winter for me just sucks the energy right out of me, but hopefully it will come back once better weather arrives.

I hope your dad comes through ok. Both the COPD and the MRSA are hard to live with…and just as hard to watch.
