10 Reasons Why I am Awesome.

haha. Okay, so I’m not really at all awesome. Ten reasons why this week has been pretty awesome.

DSC_5414
1. We’ve been potty training. You know this already. On Thursday, things just clicked. Big Sister has been dry waking up, gone to the potty and put on big girl panties all before coming out of the girls’ hallway. Pretty awesome stuff. She hasn’t had a single accident and she’s really into the M&M’s as her special treat of pottying. So are the rest of our little friends. She’s a big girl. It’s weird.

2. Thursday, we had some of our favorite people over. Tiffany & Skyler, Stephanie & Sadie and LeeLee & Mari. The kids had a blast on the swing set. Little Sister took a great nap while we were all outside playing. Tiffany & Skyler stayed for lunch. It was the perfect weather and just the perfect time.

3. Tiffany started her very own blog. Go visit her. She’s awesome. If you are friends with her, you are blessed. If you aren’t, then I pray that you will have a friend like her. She’s just amazing and I could gush and gush, but I would cry. ‘Cause that’s what I do.

4. My kid loves broccoli. She eats it with a whole ton of Ranch dressing (only O’Charley’s will do), but she eats it and she likes it. She also likes mushrooms, green and red peppers, tomatoes and cucumbers. I am so thankful for a child who loves veggies as much as I do.

5. God is really working on my heart. I can feel it. He’s teaching me how to pray. How to take myself out of the picture when I’m praying. And that when I’m praying for His Will to be done - I have to do it with a pure heart. Without adding the “please let your will be like this…”. He’s teaching me that in His Word, there are very little parts of it where God tells us to stay where we are, but so many parts where He tells us to GO and spread his word. And that’s been hard for me. Because I’m selfish and because I will miss my friends.

6. God has been comforting me with the change that is happening. (Not “the change” women go through in their fifties.) But with just change. Big Sister is becoming a Big Girl. That’s hard on a mommy. Little Sister is becoming a bigger little girl. J has things with work, jobs could change, our “home” could change. And change is hard on me.

7. We have caffeine free cokes in the house. I love them. They make me happy.

8. I found the cutest little treats to make for a certain someone’s baby shower on the 12th. I’m extremely excited and I think I should try it out before then, too.

holy heck its huerose bush
9. Our rose bush is awesome. Awesome, I say. I do not have a green thumb, it’s black. I kill everything I touch (plants, anyways) . But this rose bush just keeps on blooming. My neighbor Steph said there were over 80 blooms yesterday. I’m not completely sure why she stood outside and counted them… but she did. That’s not including little buds. This sucker blooms all through the summer. It’s awesome. It’s my “flavor it” as Big Sister says.

7 month old Little Sister
10. Last, but certainly not least, Little Sister is seven months old today. She’s grown so much. And she’s absolutely a “play pretty” as Granny Teenie called her. She’s perfect in every way. My heart gushes with love for her. She’s a perfect Child Of God that I am so blessed to take care of.

What’s awesomely going on in your life? Please share!

  3. Tara

I’m so glad potty training clicked! And I find change super hard too! Great pictures.

  4. Tiffany

Oh you are so sweet!! I am so proud of Big Sister!!! We had so much fun at your house. Skyler loved going potty and getting those m&m’s.

Change is a hard thing for me too. God always teaches us so much through change. I have had to learn that it is easier to change with God than to stay the same without Him!

    Roses…BEAUTIFUL!!!

We had a HUGE change 2 years ago and it was SOOOOOO hard. Looking back now (my husband and I were just talking about this today) It was the most maturing incredible time in our lives, personally, in our marriage, with our parents. Change, though hard, if we are following God’s will in the way your were describing. (and I am not speaking from much experience, this was one of the few times I got it right) is just so awesome! Yippee for big sister!!!!! I am sending her virtual Shrek treats (our potty training treat, except we give our kids real ones, not virtual ones, I find it works better that way) I think Isaiah will share! Little Sis, is a doll, an absolute doll and if she is lucky she will continue to grow into as beautiful of a big girl as her big sis! You do have so much to be proud of and feel blessed for. (sorry for blogging on your blog, I have a terrible habit of that.)

Your pictures are awesome and so are YOU … for real. I really love the first and last pictures.

Your littlest one’s hair is awesome!

As for my life, spring cleaning has commenced. My husband will be licensed as a pastor June 8th, and my oldest is having her 3rd birthday June 4th!!! Busy summer!
