A little comment goes a long way

Just recently I read this entry on leaving comments by Beth at I Should Be Folding Laundry. Beth talks about the importance of leaving comments, even if what you have to “say” is very little of what you think may be important.

It’s important to us “bloggers”. It let’s us know there is someone out there reading, listening. It’s important. No one can deny that they love checking their in box and finding that there are comments.

There are roughly 100 people who visit this a day. But I get about 7 comments a day. So, if you’ve never commented, don’t be scared! Just do it. Even if it’s with a “hey, I’m reading”. I love getting to know who reads this. I love reading others’ blogs as well.

So comment away guys. I wanna know who you are, what you are about and what I can learn from you!

*And just to give you some incentive. I’m going to have random.org select a winner from this post. The winner will receive a $10.00 gift card to StarBucks. Because starbucks= the closest thing to heaven you can get out of a drive-thru window.

Hey Girl! I love reading your blog. You know you are the one that encouraged me to start one.

  3. Amy

I’ve enjoyed reading your blog ever since I followed a link to it! Keep up the great work!

  4. Jill Williams

I am horrible about this. I read so many and don’t leave comments. I am sorry but on a funner note, I am reading your blog!

Ok, here goes… a few replies for the past few days. Jilly, I love you, but you might be a little crazy. Some days I wish for an epidural and I’m not even pregnant(: What I was doing counting your rose bush was trying to grab an educational moment for Miss Sadie, but when I got to the place she couldn’t count anymore, I had to know how many were there so I had to keep going. I’m thankful there is no river of pee in my house (and that it is mostly over in yours) and am convinced that if I want it to stay away I will never mop again. Thanks for that household tip(:

I wish you would direct some of your photo goal toward my house as everyday I think I am missing precious moments. Today I painted chubby little fingers and toes a spectacular metallic blue color (my three year old’s, not mine, for you strangers out there) and now I am wondering why didn’t I just point and shoot? Your skills are really improving– you ahve taken some beautiful shots.

Ok, a long comment. don’t enter me in the Starbucks thing. I’m not a coffee drinker and would hate to be a “joy sucker” from someone else who might need that card to get through her day. Love you! The Neighbor

    I’m still here :)

I just stumbled across your blog and HAD to leave a comment :) Thanks for reminding everyone out there how important these comments are to all of us. I am a coffee junkie so pick me, pick me!!

Hello! This is my first time visiting, great blog!!!

I comment on most everything I read…because I love getting comments :) Plus, I sorta feel rude if I read and don’t at least say SOMETHING! (It’s a small town thingy I guess :)

You know I read girl. You’re one of my faithful blogging friends here in blog world. I check on you almost every day and usually leave a comment. I feel the same way. Lately, I haven’t been getting many comments either and then, I start to think … is everyone just bored with me? I haven’t really had much to blog about lately. But, I know it feels good when someone just says “hey.” It doesn’t even have to be anything important or inspirational, just “I’m still here reading.”

  21. Joy

I’ve been reading, enjoying, and commenting away on your blog and hope to continue to do so in the future! If you ever have a moment, pop on over to mine as well!

  22. Michelle

Thanks for this post (& link)! I feel like I have become a lazy blogger friend here lately only reading through my bloglines not taking the time to visit or comment! Michelle

  23. Susan

Just sayin’ hi! Beth blogged about your site today, so I figured I would check you out!

  24. Lisa

    Hi!
I came over from Beth’s blog to check yours out. I have an affinity for blogs with three word names (mine is Books. Lists. Life.) so I think I might enjoy myself here!

    Lisa

  25. JaimeM

Happened over here by way of Beth’s blog. Nice place you have here! I must make a note to come back again. :)
Comments are important, I agree. And if ya have the time, stop on over to my little blog for a visit!

  26. anymommy

I just started reading at Beth’s site and now I’m hooked here too. This link thing gets me every time - always someone new to ‘meet.’ I really liked these posts. Made me feel not so crazy when I’m feeling sad about visits, but no comments!

  27. Jen

I’m coming over from Beth’s blog. I totally agree with you about the comments. They are so much fun and really validate what you wrote. Sometimes I wouldn’t even mind if I got a negative comment instead of none. How sad is that??!! Looking forward to reading more of your blog. :)

  28. Elaine

How could I NOT read a blog with those 2 darling faces at the top? I mean really??

Beth’s post was great - I linked to it also. She speaks only the truth.

And Starbucks - yeah girl! Thanks for the chance!

    Happy Mother’s Day!

  29. Melissa

I am coming over from Beth’s blog also. I get into the habit of not commenting…sometimes it seems like it takes so much time, but it really doesn’t.

  30. Marlen

Hi, name’s Marlen and I arrived via Beth’s bloig at I Should Be Folding Laundry. I am a SAHM and PChef consultant. I have five kiddos, sing in my church’s Praise and Worship band and love to scrapbook. One thing I have learned is….there is always time to nap =) Happy Mother’s Day!

  31. Michele

hi there! got here through beth at I should be folding laundry and I must admit, free starbucks was the incentive. But I am making a conscienous effort to leave messages since I read beth’s post. I hope this brightens your day =) and I promise to read on and post. Happy day!

  32. Sandra

I absolutely agree. Comments are the food for a bloggers blogging soul. Blog on!

Just leaving a note to say hi! I visit your site often and I really enjoy it. I’m glad it’s not just me that longs for comments to know someone is reading. I think I’ll put a simailar post on my own blog and I’ll be sure to leave more comments where I visit, thanks.
