My (long lost) walk Monday
Did y’all have a wonderful weekend? I sure did!
God is working big time in our group of friends! Right now, Tiffany and Jeremy are getting prepared for a new season in their life. They are going to start serving on staff at a church in Orlando. I am so thrilled for them, because I know this is 100% a God thing. God has been moving their hearts and working on their hearts for the past year to get them back on staff at a church. Unfortunately (for us, here!) it isn’t at a church nearby. They will be starting a new life 10 hours away in Orlando, Florida.
This past Saturday we had a surprise! going away party for them.

Y’all who know me, know it’s super impossible for me to keep a secret. And I have been planning this and scheming it for a few weeks now. I told Tiffany it was a surprise birthday party for J, my husband (whose birthday isn’t until the 13th). She was excited about it and I knew then, that they would for sure be coming back to their hometown for this little party. Little did they know, the party was for them!

(See, they bought J a new (awesome) checker board because he’s a huge checker guy - what sweet, sweet friends!)
And that is why my blogging has been kind of boring lately. I have been SO excited about this party that I am so super surprised that I didn’t spill the beans to Tiffany. Especially after spending ALL day with her on Thursday at the zoo.

After lots of food (seriously, lots of great food), Ben, our Sunday School teacher asked us to surround Tiff and Jeremy and lay hands on them as we prayed. We were all open to pray for them, but me? Heck no. I can’t even say they are moving out loud yet without crying up a storm. I’m in denial still. I snuck away to get a little picture of them. I thought it was absolutely precious. Plus, it’s a good reminder to them as to how much they are loved and how much we are praying for their new journey in Orlando.
My biggest prayer for that family is for them to find an extended family like they have here. I pray so much that Tiffany will find a [new] best friend. Someone she can talk to, share life with, go to the park with, go eat Mexican, go shopping with, share secrets, and someone who will pray for her daily.
It’s so hard being an adult and making new friends. It’s not like you can look over to the lady next to you in the grocery store and be like, “Hey, you like Special K cereal too? Cool, be my friend!” like you could in kindergarten.
But I know that God will always give us the desires of our heart. He longs for us to be happy and fulfilled in Him. I know that He will place the right group of people in Jeremy & Tiff’s life. That Jada will make friends at her new school, and Bless Skyler’s heart, he’ll never know a stranger. God will provide for them. He always has and always will. I am thrilled for them and I look forward to checking out their blogs and seeing how God is moving and shaking in their lives.
It’s a joyful time here. A sad time, but a completely joy filled time.

And… because, it’s just not a party until the shirts come off. It was hot, y’all!

Oh wow, what a great surprise (congratulations on keeping it secret), I so wish we could’ve been there. I really miss that church (didn’t know if I should say name), and everyone there. You’re right, it is difficult to make new friends as an adult. I haven’t made too many since being down here, I need to get out more, but then like you said, you can’t just walk up to people lol. Tiffany and her family are so very blessed to have friends like y’all!
