Crazy busy Fun
I could sleep for two days straight, I think. I’m still tired from last week and this weekend. But man, it’s been fun.
First of all, last week was our church’s VBS (Vacation Bible School). I have been so blessed to be able to work with it for the past 4 summers. This is my 3rd year to do preschool crafts and I’ve just fallen in love doing that. Something about watching little children’s hands working and their smiling at what they’ve accomplished just brings joy to my soul.
This year was special though, we had it at night! Meaning that J could be my helper. And I think he loved it just as much (if not more) than the kids. J loves children, and if you know him you know that he’s awesomely amazing with them. He can spend endless hours entertainig and playing. He sure would make a great Stay At Home Mommy.
Here are just some randomly cute pictures from last week.

On Friday, we had Family Night. True to Baptist style, we had tons of food and BBQ for the night. My sweet friend Julie made J a birthday cake since it was his birthday! We sang happy birthday to him and kept it very low key. This is the first year that I didn’t buy J a birthday present and I felt (and still feel) all sorts of weird about it. Though he told me not to get him anything (and he totally meant it), I still felt weird. He was excited, though, to see us saving more money so that’s my gift to him!
On Saturday we went to a birthday party for our neighbor-friend. Big Sister and J went, while Little Sister took a nap and I had some much needed quiet time. It didn’t last long because Little Sister is teething and doesn’t sleep for more than five seconds at a time. So, I held her the rest of the evening. She’s also been having crazy big blowouts in her diapers. Fun times.
Sunday was Father’s Day! Again, the girls and I didn’t spend any money. Oh, it kills me because I sure do love buying that guy gifts. We did make him something, and I’ll post pictures of that later, too.
But check this out. On the left is the picture of Big Sister for her Father’s Day gift (a bookmark) her Sunday School teachers made. On the right is the picture for my bookmark! I don’t think she was very happy for Mother’s Day.

After church we all came home to take naps, then off to my Dad’s to spend a little time with him. Then I was off to April’s to work on an oh so special something or another (more details later).
It’s been crazy busy fun. But I’m ready to get back to the ho hum of it all.
Oh, and we went to Chuck E. Cheeses (known around here as Chuck E. Cheekies) this afternoon for a birthday party! I’m looking forward to tomorrow (I’m hiring a sweet teen from down the road to watch the girls while I get a little random shopping and returning random things to stores).

What a busy week! Great pictures too! VBS is always just the best. Poor little sister with the teething, I hope she gets through it soon. Ava loves Chuck E Cheese too, we are now using it as an incentive prize.
