More Answers… the finale - part 5
This is it. This is the end of the questions. If you have a question for me (ask anything, I may not answer it, but you can try!) you can go to this post and ask away. Heck, you can ask at this post too!
Tara from Tara’s View of the World asks, “Question… um… what is the best date you’ve ever been on with your hubby?”
Probably our very first date ever. We went to the Frist Center for the Arts, then we went to a wonderful little restraunt called Cafe One, Two, Three. In between the museum and dinner, J was rear ended at a stop light. He got out, calmly, looked at his bumper, looked at the ladies car (she was crazy, by the way, I’m pretty sure) and they parted ways. He could have been a big jerk about it (like I would have been) and called the police to file a report on not even a ding. He could have yelled and been hateful. But he wasn’t. He was calm and patient. A little annoyed, but a gentleman through out the entire ordeal. That’s when I started to fall in love. So, that’s my favorite date.
Karen at Simply Amusing Blog (you like the play on words? I do!) asks, “Question - if you could indulge in one luxury right now, what would it be and why?”
I would get a new laptop for myself. Although I would probably neglect the children if I had 24 hour access to the internet and full mobility. But I think, man, we could go outside while I had to get some work done. Or I could be sitting next to Big Sister while she played with Little People instead of in the office.
But our first purchase will be new mattresses. Because I promised up and down that I will NOT ever be pregnant again with the mattresses that we currently have. And if J even wants a chance at adding to our family, he has to break down and get rid of the coil in my back, hip, side mattresses.
Mom of Two Boys wants to know if I have anything fun planned for the summer.
Absolutely not. We aren’t much for planning things, here at our house. My main plans are to go swimming as much as I possibly can, hang out with our sweet teacher friends who are home for the summer!, and go to my inlaws Farm a few times. Since J’s work has already sent us to the beach this year, we don’t have any plans on going (*sob*), this fall we’re going to head to the Mountains for a week after Little Sister turns one. But that’s about it. We’re trying to pay off my car, so pretty much all of our money is going to that. But, it’s worth it! (Atleast that’s what I keep telling myself!)
Jenefur wants to know why she never wins Bloggy Giveaways.
Probably for the same reason I never do. We’re doomed with bad luck. Or maybe it’s because Random.org doesn’t like us? I don’t know. But have no fear, you can always TRY! There are lots of great places to try to put your name in the hat for a giveaway. Like Prizey, Bloggy Giveaways . com, and it always seems like 5minutesformom.com is having a giveaway! So just hang in there and put your name in the hat as much as you can! (And good luck!)
Lyn asks, “What is your favorite flower?”
I love Yellow Tulips and Holly Hocks. On the side of our house, we have a huge row of Holly Hocks. They last forever and are about the easiest thing we’ve ever planted!
Jennifer, who doesn’t have a blog, wants to know what my favorite ice cream is.
Vanilla. I’m a vanilla girl, through and through. It may be boring to some. But there’s just so much one can do with vanilla. Like add oreos to it (oh yumm) or sprinkles, m&m’s, butterfingers. But my favorite way to eat vanilla ice cream is with almonds and chocolate chips. Oh man, I need to go to Maggie Moos now!
Amy from Living On The Edge asks, “What is the most amazing way you have seen God work in your life?”
Awesome question, Amy, thanks! God is always working in my life. But by far, the biggest transformation God has made is my life. I once was a bad Christian. I’ve always believed in God, always have accepted Christ, but I never put it into action. Which I think is worse than being unsaved (in my opinion).
I knew the difference between right and wrong, but I still did the wrong thing. I’ve done not so good, not so nice, just downright hurtful and sinful things while knowing is was the wrong thing to do.
But man through God’s grace He has forgiven me! And I am free from those sins. I think that’s the biggest things “unbelievers” don’t understand. And it’s something I think believers cannot get a full grasp of either. Because we can do those hurtful things, come to God and repent our sins, ask for forgiveness and there is. Just like that. He opens His arms and gives me a big hug and tells me, “Jill, my sweet child, I love you. I forgive you.” Just like we would our own children. And that’s pretty amazing to me. A big sinner.
And I still sin. Every. Single. Day. I will never live a day without sinning. It’s impossible. Only Jesus has done that. But you know what? I’m sinning less and less. And I am living my life in a way that I pray is pleasing to God. I pray that my life will be used for His purpose and that I will be able to shine His light through me.
Thanks for the questions!
