I’ll be back

My life is full of:

-driving to the hospital
-coming home
-feeding children
-trying to get them to nap
-driving to the hospital
-coming home
-making dinner
-driving to the hospital
-coming home
-eating dinner
-getting kids ready for bed
-driving to the hospital
-coming home.

It’s an exciting, glamorous life I live.

“They” are doing a tracheotomy on Dad for the ventilator. They never let a patient go over 14 days with the tube down their throat. This will protect him from having wicked sores and permanent damage to his windpipes. They will also be able to allow him to be awake more and he’d be able to breath more on his own with the vent helping him less and less. We’d even get to talk to him.

Dad also has an obstruction near his colon. It’s about 10cm big. That’s pretty big, considering a baby can fit through that and all. So, they are trying their best to keep their eye on that. They don’t want it to leak or rupture. His doctor said there is no way Dad would survive surgery.

His vitals are good though. He hasn’t had a fever in two days. His BP is great, his heart rate is great.

He is officially in “critical but stable” condition. He’s never been this sick, according to his pulmonologist.

We’re all tired. Run ragged. Mom is tired. Finally, after 23 years of constant in and out of the hospital. She’s finally tired. I pray for her strength, for her unwavering faith. I am struggling with my own.

But that’s where we are. It’s a minute by minute, day by day thing.

    Jill,
I am praying for your family! You will get through this time and you and your family will come out stronger. If you need to talk…I am here.
    Blessings,
    Ashley

Jill, I have been peeking in occasionally to see how your Dad is coming along. I do not often comment (although I know how nice it is when someone does). I do however keep him in my prayers, as well as you and you precious family.

I am praying for you and your family. I know you must be wore out already, but I also know you have an abundance of faith (and great sense of humor) that will keep you going.
