To paint… or not to paint

Times like these, I really wish I were pregnant. I was pregnant with Big Sister when we painted her room. Pregnant with Little Sister when Big Sister’s Big Girl room was painted. But, no babies in this belly to get out of painting our bedroom.

Apparently we have this “only paint one room a year” policy in our home. I don’t get it. But we only paint one room a year. The Thanksgiving after we bought our house, we painted the breakfast nook (not a whole room). The next year we painted the nursery. The next year, we painted the dining room, the next the big girl room, this year we finished painting the kitchen the red we painted it the first year. So here we are, just having celebrated our Fourth Year in this home, and we’re just not getting around to painting our bedroom.

But. Here’s the dilema. I don’t like the color we picked out. And, of course, we can’t take it back to Lowe’s. AND we’ve had it sitting in the laundry room for about a month now. Just last week, I finally put a smidge on the walls and decided then and there, it’s not the color for me. But, I’m stuck. What on earth color do I want to paint our bedroom?? Our bedding is a orange and red color (I should take pictures, but I’m too lazy). I’m so clueless. Plus we have vaulted ceilings in our bedroom and this weird little nook that I have no idea what to do with. I will take pictures this week.

So, dear internets, please help me pick out paint for my bedroom.

Not that it matters. My husband officially cut me off today. I am no longer allowed to spend any money without first getting the okay by him. Arg. (And don’t worry, he has to get an okay from me before he spends money… eventhough he bought a remote control helicopter today. Oh yes, he did).

lol Being pregnant always makes me want to paint. I guess I just want to get it done before the little one gets here. I have no paint color suggestions b/c I am a visual person and haven’t seen the room. But I do find it very humerous that J bought a remote control helicoptor! I know you’re thrilled!

So were you cut off before or after the helicopter purchase? Go ahead and get the ok now because I am sure that we’ll want to have lunch after Bible study tomorrow! :o) But tell him Stephanie asked…not your new “bad influence” hahah! :o)

I’m not liking that “cut off” thing, but I totally understand.

BTW, I tagged you with a meme. Check it out in the morning.

We just finished painting our kitchen. I love paint. Nothing changes a room cheaper than paint it. Your house looks adorable…I can’t believe I haven’t been it yet ;)

If you ever plan to sell, go as neutral as you can stand it! :) Oh, boy, is it expensive to hire someone to paint over a house full of personal taste… and it’s worse if you don’t get to move out when you thought you would! Yep, that’s me. The military wife.

I remember painting our house when pregnant with Sky. It was the worst thing ever! I would paint a few strokes and then run to the bathroom to throw up. That happened the entire time I painted. Not fun memories at all!
