Oh the things that I must do…
Why is it when there’s so much going on in my life I still volunteer to do things like bake sales and fall festivals.
I mean, it’s not like we’re getting ready to leave town or anything. I’m to bring dozens of cupcakes for Big Sister (first ever!!!) Fall Festival and ya know what? I’m going to buy them. I am a firm believer. FIRM believer in making your own goodies. This is probably why I’m a chubby monkey - but whatever - I think a homemade cupcake wins over a storebought one any day of the week. But you know what? I don’t have time. I’m a make-your-own-frosting kind of girl. But I just don’t have the time to do it, so I’m not.
I volunteered to work the Book Fair. What was I thinking? I have a one year old that is my side kick. I can’t hang out in a library for an hour. So, I emailed the director and told her that I just couldn’t do it.
I rushed around like a mad woman making chili for my new baby cousin! And you know what - that was worth it.
I still have to pack, clean my car, check the oil (err… James does) and do 18million other things (like wash some clothes so we can have them to pack).
Then, while Big is at school, I’ll do those 18million things and then pick her up, come home and do 14million things because I’m realistic and I know I can only do 4million things in 5 hours and then go to the Fall Festival at 6:30, then somehow change everyone into Pajamas and then leave for a 12 hour road trip.
What?! Why?!
Oh, because I get to see my b-double-f-double-e.
And it breaks my heart when I hear Big Sister saying, “Now me and Skyler can be bestfriends again”.
I need a cupcake.
See you guys in a week!

Only five million things in five hours?? I’m lucky if I get 10 things done! Have a great trip!
