Update on Audrey

DSC_7001Audrey did AMAZING while having her blood drawn - I thought James was sure to pass out, but Audrey barely made a sound while they took atleast5-10cc’s of her blood. She is awesome.

After waiting a little while after having her blood drawn, her DR came in to check her out, ask a million questions and do an extensive check. Oh, how we are thankful for Doctors who take their time! When the lab work came back, there wasn’t enough information to have her DR decide one thing or the other. She wrote a new iron prescription for Audrey to take 3x a day for the next month, and a recheck on the 19th of June.
She is leaning more toward her anemia being caused by an iron deficiency and not by something more serious - which is what we’re praying for. We should know more by Monday - and then, of course, know more next month after Audrey has been on this new treatment dose of iron.
Nothing is for sure ruled out - but we’re going to have some answers soon, and I am so thankful.

All day the veggie tales version of this song has been going through my mind-
Our God is so big, so strong and so mighty, there’s nothing our God cannot do.

I’m so thankful that He is in control and that no matter what happens, we are in Good Hands.

And y’all - going into Vanderbilt’s Children’s Hospital - not knowing what is going on with your daughter is the scariest thing I have ever been apart of. When I saw “Hematology/Oncology” on the doors - it just brought me down a few notches. To look around at those precious little faces, so happy, such little joys - and to have the smallest glimpse into what a mother’s heart must go through to see their perfect child sick - it just breaks my heart. More than I could ever explain.

I’m so glad that things are looking good so far. Have you ever heard of Floradix Iron Plus Herbs? It’s a different type of iron supplement that is more easily absorbed than other types. It really helped me in the past. Liquid Chlorophyll is also great for anemia.

I had some similar feelings when we took Drayken for his surgery. Overhearing some of the other families who were there for surgery and just looking around at their faces really helped put things in perspective for me. I was really lucky that a cyst was our only problem, ya know?
