Thanksgiving Review

We hosted Thanksgiving at our home this year. I felt very grown up. And I also felt very cruddy. I’ve had pneumonia for the past forever (3 weeks, whatever) and I thought I was doing so well! But, I had a lovely relapse and am now pretty sure that I’ve cracked a rib from coughing. Fun times.

BUT - that didn’t ruin our Thanksgiving festivities!

My niece came over the day before to help in preparing (err, having a photoshoot) the house & baking.

Little Sister taste tested all things chocolate!

Big Sister had a little modeling session! The hand on the hip, hand in the pocket look cracks me up!

So glad Brookie caught some cute pictures! We may have a little photographer on our hands.

I, on the other hand, broke things.

Nothing fancy, but I felt like a real grown up hosting Thanksgiving Dinner at our home. (There were more tables & lots more chairs!)

I asked Little Sister Thanksgiving Morning what she was thankful for - what made her heart happy and she answered “JESUS!”. That makes me one happy (and thankful!) momma!!

Today was spent resting! We are not crazy shopping people. There is no deal good enough to drag me out of my jammies at 4am. Even if cars were 70% off - I don’t think I could make it there.

This afternoon we slowly (James has a cold and I’m still dying) got our trees up. The girls’ trees are up and decorated (yay fiber optic 3″ trees!). The living room tree is up and decorated! And the Dining Room tree is up… still needing a little bit (alot) of work.
We’ll get it there though!

This was a special day, the girls are finally old enough to help more than hinder the decorating process. It was nice to have them involved instead of waiting til they are asleep to decorate.

Still so much to do. Like get all the fake pine needles off the floor, get the tree skirt out of the box, etc… And find a tree topper that doesn’t hit the ceiling. Ugh, I so don’t like trey ceilings…

And trying to finish up the night by reading A Charlie Brown Christmas… but I was pretty much reading to myself.
